Perizonio’s Aria from Cimarosa’s L’impresario in angustie (North American Premiere)
13 Feb 2020
Baritone Aaron Ball recreates the leading role of Perizonio in the North American premiere of Cimarosa’s “L’impresario in angustie” (1786) as guest artist for CSUN Opera’s production of the work in April, 2019.
In this aria, the scheming poet and opera librettist Don Perizonio attempts to dissuade the failing opera impresario Don Crisobolo (baritone Kurt Winterhalter) from pursuing his career by cataloguing its hardships in an attempt to push Crisobolo out of his own opera company.
